Winter Alpine Climbing with Suzana El Massri

This week we dive into the snowy icy world of Alpine climbing in the Winter. Suzana leads a ‘work hard, play hard’ life where she balances working as a freelance geophysicist and climbing hard for as long as she can before heading back to the boats to earn some cash!

Suzana shares 3 of the big routes she has attempted in winter conditions. She chose these routes as they have all provided valuable lessons. Those lessons may not have been the easiest to take on board, especially as they tend to come hand in hand with not succeeding. However, Suzana explores her resilience and the requirement to keep on going, and how this is essential in facing your fears and eventually achieving your goals.

Suzana also answers questions from our community live on the night about how winter alpine differs from summer alpine, and the best way to extend your skills into this colder and more challenging arena.
